Donations in Renee's Memory

Renee always wanted to help other people. Because PPMS doesn't make it easy to help them in person/physically we donated regularly (and continue to do so) to these charities.

If you are so inclined, please use these links to donate money in her memory. A couple of these sites are "fundraiser" sites that make it easier for you to donate in her name instead of filling in a bunch of fields. There are "goals" that are just required fields, but we don't have a specific goal other than to help these charities. Anything you give in Renee's name or your own is appreciated.

World Central Kitchen

Chef José Andrés started this charity in 2010 when he was near Haiti and witnessed all the people who didn't have the most basic need of being able to eat. He has built a worldwide organization to be a first responder and pull people together from the local community to help feed those in need, trying to focus on the local foods and ways of preparing them that are comfortable for the people in need.

Renee was passionate about making sure people didn't go hungry - this charity touched her and we continue to donate monthly.

Shriners International

The Shriners founded the Shriners Hospitals for Children around the world starting in 1922. They have a strong focus on family and friendship while doing what they can for children.

Renee's heart was an open book - she felt for children who needed help. We continue to donate to this charity monthly.

Salvation Army

Renee was a volunteer bell-ringer every year for over 15 years until she could no longer physically do it herself. She was recognized for her efforts. The Salvation Army Disaster Relief Services are often first on the ground to help people in any way they can.

Wounded Warrior Project

This charity was formed in 2003 to honor and empower veterans who incurred an injury, illness, or wound. They also support the family. There are a lot of services provided and you can find out a lot more about it here (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/mission).

Renee respected those who served and had a place in her heart for those who were wounded physically or mentally. We continue to donate monthly to this cause.
